ABOUT HENKIWELLBEING
REMEDIAL massage therapY and ENERGY HEALING based in cromwell.
After treating human bodies for over a decade with various manual therapy and massage styles, it was finally time to step on my own and create something that felt and looked like me. Combining different styles of massage therapy and various forms of other healing methods Henkiwellbeing is here to help you with your wellbeing! My roots are in Finland, and a lot of my wisdom and the way I work are shaped by the strictness and simplicity of Northern Europe. Henki is a Finnish word with multiple meanings, including spirit, life, person, breath, soul, presence, and atmosphere. At Henkiwellbeing I provide treatments from a holistic point of view, and I give you the tools and exercises to treat yourself so you can continue towards optimal wellbeing!
MY APPROACH
My true passion is in well-being! Massage in its various forms, body alignment, breath work, and energy healing are the cornerstones of my work. A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the energy system is the base for my treatments. Focusing on the client as a whole being by acknowledging body, mind, and spirit will guarantee a good holistic treatment. I’m passionate about my work and getting the best results possible requires commitment from me and the client. Modern-day life is hectic, demanding, and stressful in many ways, to pause and take time to improve your overall wellbeing is my goal. Every session will be tailored specifically for your needs and what you are comfortable with.
My story
The human body and its movement have always fascinated me. Over the years, I have played several sports and exercises myself and treated people with various physical ailments. My own experiences have taught me that our ability to learn, heal, and improve ourselves is endless. However, well-being is not just about learning how to move your body- it’s a lifelong journey with constantly changing variables. After working as a self-employed Physiotherapist for 7 years in Finland, I felt like I needed some new challenges and opportunities to continue my own development. A hiking trip to Nepal inspired me to have a gap year in New Zealand- and 6 years later I’m still here!
Being a Physiotherapist is a great base for bodywork. Studying at University for 3.5 years and practicing for several more, has given me a broad knowledge of how the human body works. I have also completed various courses to help me learn and understand more about both physical health and holistic well-being. I graduated in Finnish Body alignment (Kalevalainen jasenkorjaus) in 2016, which was a turning point for me and inspired me to start treating patients with a more holistic approach. Since coming to New Zealand, I have become a registered massage therapist with Massage New Zealand (MNZ) and Reiki practitioner (Level 1,2 & 3). I have also started to scratch the surface of craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and Honohono healing, which is traditional Maori healing therapy. In September 2024 I will also start my journey with Bowen therapy
MY FREE TIME
When work is done and I’m on Kaisa time you will most likely find me around or in Lake Dunstan, on a yoga mat, or in my self-built sauna. I am usually accompanied by my two best pals, my cats Keke and Storm. Dipping into the lake 365 days a year is part of my daily routine that keeps me going. I also enjoy wandering outdoors, running, gardening, and hanging out with friends- all things that help to keep me sane and happy!
