MASSAGE
Based on a consultation with you and an assessment, together we will choose the combination of massage styles that will best treat your problems. Massage can help with chronic and acute pain patterns. Release tension caused by a bad posture, repetitive movements or hard physical work. Relax and restore your body and mind after a stressful period of time. This will help you to perform better in your sport by increasing mobility and range of motion, decreasing pain and tension, preventing injuries and speeding up recovery. Massage can also help with circulation problems, breathing more freely and improve quality of sleep. Massage is maintenance to your body to help it to continue functioning optimally. Massage combined with stretching and exercise will help you to achieve permanent change.
BODY ALIGNMENT
Is there a problem in your body that always seems to come back? This may be caused by an injury in the past, habitual tension, repetitive movements at work, or an emotional trauma that continues to manifest itself in physical symptoms. Body alignment can help you to release that tension and relearn how to hold yourself better. Most of the body alignment techniques are really gentle and based on moving the fascia (fascia is the connective tissue that “glad wraps” our muscle fibres and muscles, and connects them to bones and skin to create a working human body). Body alignment involves some mobilisation of the joints, but zero cracking or clicking is done with force. Most of our recurring problems are found in the fascia system -one part is pulled and tightened, like pulling a fishing net from one corner which causes the shape of the whole net to change. This can be caused by an injury, tightness or weakness in muscles, or jammed or painful joints. Releasing that tension enables your body to realign, and start working on towards a healthier you. Through strengthening and stretching, we can ensure that any harmful patterns stop coming back.
BREATH WORK
Breath is a powerful tool. The way we breathe can change our posture, heartbeat, anxiety levels, and affects how tired or stressed we feel. It's important to learn how to be aware of and control your breath. With breathing and relaxation exercises you really can change how you feel, and you can use this tool at any time to help calm your nervous system. Starting with simple exercises, you can work towards a calmer and healthier you. Breathing exercises are also a first step towards meditation which will help you to not only be calmer but also be more focused in life. I can help you to get started and build a daily routine that works for you. As with everything, the more you practice, the more effortless and natural it will become!
ENERGY HEALING
Sometimes we need a deeper, gentler way to re-energize our wellbeing. There can be energy blockages or leaks caused by our past or present. It could be trauma, a childhood or past experience, the weight of expectations on our already busy lives or just how life has shaped you to be where you are now. These can appear in different symptoms- it may be a physical ache or pain, fear, anxiety, feeling irritable, or even a harmful behaviour or pattern. With Reiki, you can help your system to heal any of these issues. The healing itself helps you to clear some of the energy blockages and mend some of the energy leaks. The power of Reiki is that your own energy system will continue to restore itself even after the healing session. Chakras are energy centres in our body, and for our systems to work optimally these energy centres need to be in alignment. I will help you to realign your energy centres using Reiki, as well as crystals and some hands on energy healing and pressure point therapy. I will also provide you with some techniques to practise at home, so you can continue to work on overcoming whatever is holding you back!
